Guide to resetting your Galaxy alarm

If your ADT Honeywell Galaxy system (or any Galaxy alarm system) has been activated for some reason (either a real break-in or false alarm) then there are different scenarios for resetting your alarm – depending on how it’s been programmed.

  • Manager reset
  • Engineer reset
  • Normal user reset

Engineer reset – Galaxy alarm

Commonly (and annoyingly) bigger alarm companies (like ADT / Chubb / Secom) will programme in an ‘engineer reset’ into the system – meaning that an engineer has to visit your site to physically reset your alarm – by putting in their special alarm code.  This is a very quick / easy process, but is something that your alarm company will charge you £££ for (annoyingly).

The alternative to calling out your current alarm company we provide a lower cost / nationwide service where we can help reset your alarm – and take it over (re-programming out functions like ‘engineers reset’).

Following alarm activation the system requires to be reset by a manager

level code.

User reset  – Galaxy alarm

If you see a ‘User reset required’ message on your Galaxy alarm system, then you need to follow these instructions to reset your alarm:

  1. Enter your 4 digit user code.  Press [ENT].
  2. Scroll through the menu using [A>] or [B<], and then press [ESC].  This will then return you to the home screen.
  3. From here you should be able to set your alarm as normal.
