Meet Super Engineer — AI that accelerates intruder-alarm troubleshooting
Modern alarm installation jobs rarely involve a single box on the wall. Today’s systems mix smart panels, app-connected communicators, multiple buses, and third-party detectors — often from different generations. That’s great for customers, but it leaves engineers juggling firmware versions, wiring conventions, and setup software across brands.
The on-site reality
When looking at fixing alarm systems the on-site reality is often a complex mess of issues:
- Zone and loop mysteries: Single zone stuck in alarm, double-EOL vs. EOL mismatch, resistor values that vary by manufacturer.
- Bus & keypad errors: Addressing conflicts, corrupted device enrolment, long-run voltage drop.
- Power & battery behaviours: Charger thresholds, false “battery fault” due to calibration or load.
- Communicators & signalling: APN quirks, SIM lock, IP path vs. cellular fallback, account programming.
- App pairing & cloud: OAuth oddities, push notification delays, version drift between panel and app.
Where AI fits — and what makes Super Engineer different
And this is where Super Engineer comes in. Super Engineer is an AI assistant that answers in plain language and cites the exact pages from the relevant manuals so you can double-check on the spot. It’s trained on thousands of instruction manuals and service notes, and it’s designed for field use:
- Manual-backed answers: Fix steps with page references (no guessing).
- Panel-aware guidance: Understands common modes across leading ecosystems (installer vs user menus, default codes, enrolment flows).
- Team memory: Upload your company’s preferred settings, signalling profiles, and “known good” templates.
- Faster first-time fix: Less time on hold; fewer repeat visits.
Example workflow (typical call-out)
- You ask: “Galaxy keypad shows BUS 02. How do I locate the conflict?”
- Super Engineer replies with a short checklist (cited pages): device addressing, cable length limits, PSU load calcs, and the menu path to re-enrol nodes.
- You scan the steps, confirm with the manual page, and close the job.
From AMCO’s idea to an industry tool
We first built Super Engineer to help AMCO Security’s engineers move faster through documentation. The concept proved itself quickly, and we’re now opening it to the wider industry.
Launch & early access
And we’re pleased to announce we’ll be launching our app soon – giving early access to a select few users:
- Public launch: early November 2025
- Early beta: register at SuperEngineer.app (intruder-alarm specialists especially welcome)
