If a green LED light is constantly flashing on your Paxton Net2 this indicates that the door is being held open by either:

  • 1. A Physical connection: a connection across the exit button terminals (e.g. it’s jammed open by a faulty exit button)
  • 2. A Software request: it’s getting a request from the Net2 PC software to open, and is therefore keeping the door open

1. Physical connection

Physical connection issue with exit Button:

  • Check the status of the Relay LED on the ACU and the Exit button LED. If they are both on, then the door is being held open by the exit button terminals.
  • Check the status of the Relay one LED and the Exit LED on the ACU. If they are both on, then the door is being held open across the exit button terminals.
  • Check that the Exit button IF USED has normally open contacts wired across 0V and Exit on the ACU.
  • Check that there is no break glass connected across the exit terminals. This should be wired in series with the lock wires.
  • Check that the Exit button IF USED has normally open contacts wired across 0V and Exit on the ACU.

2. Software settings

Check the software isn’t accidentally set to open the doors. For example, on the ‘Unlock the door during’ configuration, change the ‘All day, every day’ to ‘At no time’ and apply the changes.

  • If the Relay 1 LED is on and the Exit LED is off, then the door is being held open by a command from the PC. Open Net2 software and click on the door ACU in the list. On the configuration ‘Unlock the door during,’ change the ‘All day, every day’ to ‘At no time’ and apply the changes. Reinstate the door. The ACU must be on line for this to take place. Check that the Exit, Relay 1 LEDs are off, and the green reader LED is on and not flashing.
  • If Relays 1 and 2 are on, it is likely that a fire alarm input has triggered the opening of this door and has not been reset in Net2. There should be a Reset fire alarm button on the toolbar, otherwise the fire alarm can be reset by double clicking on the fire alarm event in the Events screen. A standard reinstate may be required to push this change to the controller.
